Job Overview:

As an active member of the planning team, you will be working under the guidance of our Senior Planning Consultants and Managers. This role is critical in helping our clients to achieve the ‘vision’ for their project. By collaborating with the planning team and clients, you will lead on the design elements of projects and assist in turning the ‘vision’ into successful planning applications, producing CAD plans, images, and designs. You will be responsible for your own time management and prioritisation, ensuring WRP standards are always met, and time recording adhered to.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading on the design elements for projects and applications you will prepare CAD plans/drawings to support planning applications and provide the application the best possible chance of success. Fine tuning and refining elements prior to submission.

  • Producing various images and documents for planning applications:
    • Site constrains
    • Site context
    • CGI’s – Sketch up/3D
    • Hand drawn images
    • Development comparisons
    • Drafting design and access statements
    • Prepare and submit building regulations applications
  • Attending sites and producing measured surveys for production of existing plans.
  • In collaboration with consultants and clients, utilising your knowledge and understanding, produce workable schemes that meet clients needs, longer term plans and planning constraints, and will achieve a positive outcome. Additionally providing advice on design/construction constraints, limitations and building regulations.
  • As an ambassador for WRP ensure every communication – verbal and written is professional, efficient, effective, helpful, and appropriate. To ensure constructive negotiations and successful positive interactions.
  • Attendance at briefing meetings and design meetings with clients and 3rd parties as required. Including the production of any follow up documentation and images as required.
  • Production of accurate drawing specification letters which include accurate time estimates.
  • Liaison with clients, planning consultants, and 3rd parties where necessary (architects, tree consultants, ecologists, etc) to achieve a workable design scheme.
  • Responsible for producing images and content for company marketing as required.
  • Effective time management, prioritisation of work and recording of time in line with job estimates. Ensuring whilst all work is completed efficiently it also meets or exceeds the required standard and quality.
  • Sharing your knowledge and expertise, act as a mentor/coach to other team members supporting a culture of continuous development and improvement.
  • Contribute to the continued development and progression of WRP by providing ideas and suggestions for improvements.
  • Working in line with Group key performance indicators and The WRP Way.

  • Architectural Degree / Architectural Technologist Degree
