Planning consent for an elegant 7000 sq.ft. family home in the heart of the Cheshire countryside

Wharfe Rural Planning were instructed to seek the replacement of an existing dwelling – a mix of various extensions totalling around 4,500 sq.ft. – with an elegant new-build home that maximised the potential of the site.

Working with an international design consultancy, the proposed design was a Georgian inspired home totalling 6,000 sq.ft., including 4 bedrooms, all with en-suites and dressing rooms, and a basement with a games room and cellar, creating a careful balance of spatial and visual assessments through a scheme that would not be materially larger than the dwelling it replaced.

The application was approved at the first time of asking and is now progressing to the build phase.
